Nope. John Nelson Darby created it in the 1800s, after he had a fall and a knocked his nogging real hard.

OMG yes. As a recovering Roman Catholic I'm like, where in the hell did this come from? I've read that book cover to cover a few times and "rapture" isn't a thing.

Might have come up with it in the 1800s but it wasn't in common usage, in the US at least, until the 1980s! Stupid Falwells.

@nemeciii @deirdrebeth @GayDeceiver Interesting. That order of events seems the opposite way around to how the rapture is usually depicted - not that I’m any expert on it.
