am considering unbinding h/l in helix. i wanna get more economical with movement keys and i feel like h/l are the most uneconomical. j/k are reasonably economical because moving down a line is a lot of characters but moving a character left/right is kind of shit.

i wanna get more efficient with editing, but also think i tend to fallback to unconscious patterns, so i'm thinking that disabling them for awhile may help.

i also kind of wanna get used to using C-u and C-d instead of j/k (maybe unbind them too?). i dunno, people who don't use modal editors would probably think i'm very efficient with my editing, but i feel slow as hell.

i'm also kind of unhappy with the way that i type. if something's on the number row, i am very likely to move my fingers pointer or middle fingers from the home row to press them instead of the fingers that are supposed to press them. i wanna get more used to typing all proper like

i feel like outside of even just qwerty, that keyboards are really poorly design. like look at how much work that pinkies are supposed to do.

@athousandcateaus I use ortholinear boards a lot of the time. Reduces the stretching and I don't have to learn or setup a new layout.
