Doug Ford says whatever he needs to in the moment to escape controversy, very rarely does it have any basis in reality.
If he isn't lying, then what he's admitting to is backsliding on transparency, and putting to lie all the times he has crowed about how transparent and accessible him and his government are.
@evdelen @hewer_of_code the guy likes to use his personal phone to conduct government business. Seems there was a court case that he lost to prevent the release of those records so he changed the rules.

He doesn't want voters seeing how indebted and beholden he is to his mafia pals in the 'land development' business (turning farmland into high-end housing few can afford - which this week we learn we'll subsidize with our tax dollars), nor the wealthy vote prompting inanities like Calendra's declaration today that valedictorians must 'behave' or their school boards will receive a 'six pack' from the Premier (see Irish 'troubles' for what a six-pack was back in the day).
