MRC production company played themselves by renegotiating Spacey's $31 million settlement payment he owed them down to $1 million, payable in after-tax installments over 10 years, believing they'd get a $29 million insurance payout from Fireman's Fund with Spacey's testimony backing up MRC's claim against the insurance company.
MRC lost about $30 million, and basically let Spacey off the hook, financially.
