Someone paid £52 ($70/60 eur) for a broken, 40 year old membrane keyboard

what is wrong with apple people

@crashtestdev

Possibly they hope to repair it? Seems expensive otherwise 😕🤷‍♂️

@simonzerafa I assume so? I put £20 just because I needed any ADB kb with that intension, my other options were £40/50+ or import from the US, kinda stuck on what to do now, other than wait for next pay day and bite the bullet and pay the high prices/costs to import

@crashtestdev

Even the USB or PS2 to ADB adapters are expensive 😕

Doesn't look like I'll be collecting vintage MAC's any time soon 😂🤣

I'll stick to modern OS's as they are so cheap 😫

@simonzerafa @DosFox kindly gave me an SE FDHD, I can't really complain as I then decided I needed 2 white elephants and bought a Plus that also lacks a keyboard and mouse  (but does have the nice Apple carrying case)

I had been looking at Macs for a while, DosFox has just acted as a catalyst

@simonzerafa @crashtestdev at least there's a lot of DIY adapters out there
@crashtestdev think different  I dont think you can even sensibly repair these

@crashtestdev Wait wtf these are worth money now?

I have like 6 of them lol

Apple Keyboard II - Purple's Collection

@crashtestdev And they DONT have broken keys either
@Purple @crashtestdev I think that one was a fluke, as there's no way in hell people are regularly spending that much on an Keyboard ii 🙃

@DosFox @Purple it was, it was £16 until the last 50 seconds when 3 people started a bidding war

It's why I honestly don't bother with ebay auctions anymore
