What are your thoughts on attending the single day WWDC in-person event?

My last WWDC was 2018 and I’m wondering if I should sign up for the lottery this year. Would also by my 20th anniversary as WWDC06 was my first one.

@markusms was in 2023 and wasn’t really worth the time. It’s a nice experience to have done once tho…
@macguru17 Where there good opportunities to pitch the app to App Store people? This kinda would be my hope. We have great connections to local teams, but no longer internationally.
(BTW booked my Leipzig trip this wekk. But will only stay for a single night)
@markusms If I understand it correctly they don’t want you to connect internationally and that local teams have the same leverage as the other ones.
@markusms going to the us in 2026 does not seem to be the best move…
@io I know this is a concern, but improving connections with Apple people might help the company …
@markusms Same here. I attended in 2018 in person last time and I’m really missing the event. But I won’t apply this year. There’s not a lot we can do these days, but consciously not traveling to the US is one of the few things remaining, for me at least. I also think Apple is making the wrong call continuing these one-day “movie theater” events that are really not worth the effort for international attendees. Also they need to know.
@flo_muc In all recent developer surveys I suggested local WWDC events for developers. Sadly this doesn't seem to be a priority right now. Probably because most of developer relations staff is in the US during WWDC. I'm still considering signing up, but the political situations in the US is a big concern. 😕
