@giantspecks Writing hopeful sci-fi is hard work. But hope and optimism were always at the core of Gene Roddenberry’s vision. Here again we had an attempt - that was heading in the right direction - cut off before it had a chance to percolate. A decision surely guided by a preference for portrayal of a darker future. An easier production path. Which surprises no-one living in these times.
