Yesterday’s ride was a tough one. I have struggled with motivation and confidence to go far but yesterday I was up early so decided to ride a hilly, gravelly route to Sherwood Pines and back. The first half went well, flying along even on the hills and then I turned for home. The wind was blowing strongly and I crawled home getting more and more tired, pedalling down hills. I am sure I will feel the benefit eventually. #BikeTooter

@Blackhound After a ride where I went downwind first and had to battle it all the way home, I try to go upwind, and have the wind at my back on the return. Not always possible, and winds change direction too.

Keep at it, it gets easier!

@rand I am old enough to know better! I hadn’t realised just how windy the day was. First thing in the morning it was quite still.

@Blackhound I usually check direction before I head out, but sometimes it is still. Around here, unless there is a storm, the wind always comes from the NNW from spring to fall. So when in doubt I go that way.

Nothing like slugging upwind or uphill to put a downer on your ride!
