Rather than force SM platforms to actualy protect folks (which is all of us, but especially the vulnerable/young) governments are asking everyone to provide PII to unregulated/underregulated 3rd parties who are usually part of the ecosystem of platforms which refuse to do the initial basic protection.

This will not end well. What asshattery is this? It is just doubling the risks for EVERYONE, and especially the vulnerable/young.
