#yegbike commute; cold at -12°C with slight northeasterly wind. Some snow - maybe a few centimetres, light and fluffy. Riding through the mostly uncleared MUPS was not an issue at all, some mush buildup at intersections on the roads.
Traffic light and well behaved, not many people about.
The snow really quietens things down, mostly a serene ride.

I'm quite pleased that I rode my bike over to Old Strathcona Bikes yesterday for its final seasonal tire change. Roads were clear and dry at lunchtime, and then it snowed again! Can you use a pair of studded 20" tires? I'm trying to find a good home for them. After this winter's extreme ice, I decided that my frail aging body can no longer handle winter cycling. The risks of more fractures are too high.

@EllenInEdmonton I don’t blame you one bit for letting go of winter cycling.
This has been a hard winter for me as well, and I’m not so sure I will biking every single day next year.
But yes, I certainly would have a use for 20-inch studded tires - building up 3 20-inch folders right away!
@Jeneric
Excellent! I can meet you at the market with them either day this weekend, if you're headed that way. I found the folding bike to be much more stable for winter riding, with the lower centre of gravity. Still, I have nowhere particular that I have to go every day now, so I'm highly unmotivated to fight with ice and wind.
