What do you feel when a loved one reads your work?

Depends who they are. My youngest son was my alpha reader for my first books & that was fun. We share a love of fantasy.

My husband's insistence he must read my book annoyed me. It was pure obligation on his part. He doesn't like, nor understand, the genre, & all I got was a bunch of confused questions where I was expected to explain & define every story element. Thank goodness he never got past Book 1.
