Power went out at 3:30, then came back for a second, causing several BINGS throughout the houseโ€ฆ then went back out. Was only out for half hour or so before another round of BINGS. Thankfully we knew to turn off all of the light switches that have smart bulbs before the power came back on. Still, sleeeeeeepy.
Game day proposal Sat April 18. No named day, but Iโ€™m on leave and TheVoid has a birthday day before ๐Ÿ˜œ Yell if not convenient, will invite a couple of not Lemmy persons also. @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected]

Lemmy

Took a while for me to change my sheets yesterday because my back hurts. Iโ€™ve noticed after some years of being alive that I lean to one side when standing. I wonder what that is for.

Anyway, after beautifully making my bed yesterday, I wake up today to the sheet and doona on the floor and a dead arm. Yay.

Were you checked for scoliosis as a kid?I wake with dead arm/hand often but thatโ€™s a hyper mobile thing

Not that I know of! I might ask my mother today.

Thatโ€™s funny - we found out my sister is hypermobile

Was once upon a time standard. Bend touch toes, answer if youโ€™ve begun menstruating. Done.

Ikea currently doing a REWIND TO 1996 on their page.

You shut the hell up thatโ€™s the year I graduated high school

I wouldnโ€™t even notice , Iโ€™m not too up with fashions
Thought I was flexing pretty hard by bringing in Timtams for the communal snack table then one of the big dogs drops off the hamper our car dealer sent us

Heading back to melbs today. Didnโ€™t fall off the roof so big success. I do have an unexplained bruise on my left buttock though ๐Ÿค”

Looking at what people charge for gutter / downpipe cleaning I would do terribly in that line of work. Took me aaages.

Pโ€™s back tm so jumping back on OPERATION FOOD for olโ€™ girl. Been very nice not locking horns w/ anyone about medical or food things (or any things) for the last 2.5 weeks.

I was back at the doctorโ€™s again today and had more blood taken. Iโ€™m not sure if itโ€™s the new doctor or the magic new 50yo label, but the difference between now and a couple of years ago in terms of interest in actually doing screening tests etc. is very dramatic.

Iโ€™ve always been a bit annoyed by all of the โ€˜ask your doctor about X issueโ€™ type messaging because Iโ€™ve never been to a doctor before that actually had any interest in following anything up. Itโ€™s always felt like itโ€™s somehow supposed to be my responsibility to figure out what health tests etc. are appropriate and then to try to convince a doctor to sign off on doing it. Having a doctor that actually wants to arrange for things in a proactive manner is a bit of a novelty.

My local clinic (been going there for 8 years now) is absolutely amazing at following up. The GP we started with is no longer there, but there are 3 others that are great. No worries with getting tests and referrals. They always recommend doing a full spectrum analysis of everything.

Also, bulk billing since day one.

The appointments are kept to the minimum time (10-15 minutes) but if anything is out of the ordinary theyโ€™ll arrange an extended one.

A while back I ran into one of the GPs at the shops and he was asking me how everything was since the last visit.

This is awesome.

then to try to convince a doctor to sign off on doing it.

They arenโ€™t the easiest to deal w/ I can say that much.

So glad you found a good gp. My experience is identical to yours. Youโ€™ve described it exactly! Iโ€™ve had a few different gps over the years and they have all been similar. I figure maybe itโ€™s my appearance or way of asking, maybe I seem too well? Also I donโ€™t go that often, so they donโ€™t really know me? But then shouldnโ€™t someone who isnโ€™t a frequent visitor be taken seriously, because if Iโ€™ve shown up at the GP, I have a genuine concern.

The other day I was helping YL with her room and I noticed a floating shelf box that sheโ€™d bought. I placed it on the side and told her not to put that up. โ€œYes Mumโ€. I told her not to move the furniture on her own. โ€œYes Mumโ€. I go in there and the furniture is moved. Hmm.

I go in there a little later on and the floating shelves are on the floor, pulled out of the box, instructions open. So I confiscated all the bits and hid them, minus the box. Nothing has been said about them in 2 days.

Today she brought out the box and put it in the recycling. Nothing was said. I took the box and put all the bits in there and hid it again. I wonder how long itโ€™s gonna be before she mentions it.

kittens home, tucked up in dining room with His Lordship while I keep a loose eye on Cerys.

Maxโ€™s damaged tail looks like a lot more than that, he limps on his right and sits splayed. No matter to us, heโ€™s ours regardless of if he ends up a diaper wearing wheelchair hoon, but they really shoulda disclosed that

Oh damnโ€ฆ damage to their tail is basically spinal injury and can affect toileting and walking, thatโ€™s right.

I have my fingers crossed for you but if it gets to that point Kmart sells Anko brand pet nappies in different sizes and Big W sells pet wheelchairs. If that helps.

With orange kittens driving, your house will turn into the Grand Prix

Inspection on Monday. Good incentive to clean up my depression clutter but still ugggghhhhhhhhUUUUHQHQHAHAHQSHHSIBSUPSGIWVHEIHWWONXNXYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ad infinitum
I swear I hate inspections
I donโ€™t hate them anymore, I use them as an excuse to deep clean the place, otherwise I can be lazy about things like wiping skirting boards and whatnot.

Itโ€™s a good excuse, and honestly it is the kick in the bum I need to sort my mental health out.

But also, fuck REAs ๐Ÿ˜‚

How can so many of them be so awful? ๐Ÿ˜ญ
REAs are mostly vile. Had 2 who were lovely, and they got replaced by vermin. The kick in the pants to do the less common cleaning bits is useful, but never ever let them in unsupervised!
If I work hard today I can take tomorrow off and just do nice things, like reading and life admin and stuff ๐Ÿ˜Š

Feeding the cats today was a full on 10 step mission.

But itโ€™s done and the food can be eaten whilst they stay dry.

TW mental health Today has been absolutely brutal. I had a hyperventilating breakdown in my GPโ€™s office because I just canโ€™t take it anymore. Iโ€™ve made it through decades of things that would have broken another person and handled all the human deaths. But Iโ€™m continuing to go through hard shit while in severe chronic pain on the daily. Right after the death of my deeply bonded pet that was keeping me going. Iโ€™m seeking mental health help. But fuck me it is hard to just keep on endlessly living like this.

so many hugs

#1, get the pain managed

and we are here always ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚

if there is anything we can just ask

Itโ€™s so windy I saw a bird fly sideways ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ๐Ÿฆ

Just say thereโ€™s 9 lamb chops and 3 people. Each person receives 2 perfectly good sized chops but one person may have put away the other 3 for ron because they are her favourite food of all time.

Question: Is that fair even though the cook always cooks the greedy little pigs favourite food and allows them to have the leftovers and the cook doesnโ€™t ask for nothing and could happily take her shirt off her own cold back so the greedy little pigs could stay warm?

First the toilet paper, then the petrol. Now itโ€™s lamb chops.
Youโ€™re doing them a favour eating the left over lamb while they get something fresh ๐Ÿ‘
