Who *actually* understood Quaternions for real? I can work with them, but I never quite really understood them.
Can someone point me to a good resource that explain them, well, intuitively?

@pythno Full disclosure: whenever I try to use my understanding of quaternions to manipulate one, I always end up doing something wrong. Treating them as meaningless numbers works best.
