@tomgag I was actually completely away from the Internet for the better part of 7 years. This is ironic as my PhD is in IP networking. Before rejoining fully I idled on HackerNews for around a year before buying 4G LTE equipment as I live in a rural area, which I'm waiting for a 5G NR upgrade next month. Within 10 days of getting the 4G gear, I signed up for Mullvad. That plus uBO and ZeroOmega is my WireGuard + SOCKS5 stack.
