Due to the fire on Union Street, the old carriage entrance has been opened up to provide an alternative way into Central Station in Glasgow. This gives a chance to see some of the massive girders which support the station's main concourse. Looking very much like parts from a giant meccano set, they've been holding up the station for well over 100 years.

@thisismyglasgow Great photo. In years gone by you used to be able to drive off Hope St and into the station to pick up passengers. Must have been late 60s, we would pick up relatives from down south.
@thisismyglasgow I remember when you used to be able to drive up that ramp and park on the platforms. There was a second exit that took you out onto Oswald Street.
