Suspending Israel from all commercial relationships and cooperations where legally possible is really the least they can do. Is the dependency on the U.S. so deep they really helpless to take action against Israel?

Right wing politicians won’t have a bar of it and anyone to the left of them is scared of the backlash. It is probably mostly recognising the reality that most of the media and social influencers not to mention the bots drive outrage at being critical of Israel.
@Lats The fear of blowback or being called antisemitic, being swarmed by pro-Israel accounts, facing pressure from right-wing politicians etc is much harder to weaponize once the frame is clear. If the conversation starts from “this is an occupation and it must end,” there’s no ambiguity to exploit. Israel made the occupation invisible through sheer persistence. That’s not a controversial framing just international law. There’s no dispute about the basic fact. It’s an occupation. The pressure tactics described is effective because of the fog the media created calling this a “conflict” and resistance “terrorism”. The UN charter is very clear about the rights of an occupied population.
