Discover Krita 5.3/6.0: 10 new features explained to get you started

Thank you for the walkthrough, @shichimi πŸ™

@shichimi Many thanks for this manual. Very impressive update, new text tool is a gamechanger.

A few things that made me stumble when I followed the examples from the video, maybe they help somebody:

In the fill-tool, the option for close-gap is only available in fill-mode "Fill a contigous region".

The close-gap option is also available in the Wand-tool.

In transform mode, to use Ctrl+Alt to rotate the transformation-form, the mouse must be OUTSIDE the tranformation-form for it to work.

@shichimi
Also during this I realized the transformation mode has the feature that if you press Ctrl that you get a kind of very powerful perspective-transformation.

Never knew. That's a problem with Krita, so many great features, but many are hard to find. It would help if the footer-bar would show available option keys (like ctrl, ctrl+al) and what they do while the tool is active.

Great overview, thank you. Really excited about the pixel perfect stabilization mode, though I wouldn't have guessed this setting would be in stabilizer, in other programs it's called "Pixel Perfect" near the brush size edit. An improved texture brush, transform, comic panel creator and text editing options are huge as well.
@shichimi That transform feature is a game changer
@shichimi awesome video, thanks a lot. love the T-shirt !
@shichimi Thanks for the video!
I am really looking forward to test some of the features, especially the new stabilization and close gap fill. These were things that made me prefer Clip Studio Paint over Krita. Sounds like this could change...
OMG they fixed the text tool finally, awesome!
@shichimi Awesome!! The text tool was *the* part of Krita that I didn't like. I still used it as it was, because drawing a comic in Krita and wording it in Photoshop wasn't convenient – but this upgrade is really really welcome. πŸ™‚ Same goes for the other features presented in this video, although they didn't bother me as much. The speed-based stroke stabilisation is a great idea! The multi-layer transform tool is amazing too. Thanks a lot to the team!
@shichimi thanks for this helpfull video πŸ‘ looking forward to try the new version
