Just had a disconcerting experience listening to a podcast edition of the Freak the Sheep show on bFM;

They played a song that sounded eerily similar to one written by the guitarist of a band I did vocals for (I hesitate to call it singing) in the mid-1990s. I had to wonder if it was inspired by hearing our sing, or Toki was riffing off theirs.

The song I heard on Freak the Sheep definitely came first. It was Kim Blackburn's Lizards in Love 1, from the album of the same name released in 1986;

Clearly Toki didn't dig it. Our parody (I hesitate to call it homage) was entitled Axolotl: The Boring Song, featured a slow, languid guitar line, and the vocals ended it by shouting "this song is boring!" 😆
