@doombloomart i know i keep iterating this wherever i can, but i feel it is super important that we don't get divided. that we don't start saying things like "it's fine for code but not for art" or "it's fine for art but not for journalism", etc

@lumi @doombloomart not quite. gemini live, Claude for parsing inaccessibly formatted text, non-classifier-based vision models, AI-assisted OCR....
@freya @doombloomart it's a thorny issue, then. if even a fraction of this genai money was allocated to accessibility, i feel like we would have had so much more, and corporations wouldn't have messed up literally everything in the process

@lumi @doombloomart I respect the fact that you're not just telling me "fuck you, you don't get to have accessibility". there are people out there saying that things like gemini live are evil, even if they help me, and that I should just......... not have things that can help me with visual tasks
@lumi Absolutely we need all crafts to have solidarity with each other. It's easy to fall for the "maybe AI is good for (thing i don't understand well)" narrative. I have no respect for those who only value their own craft but think everyone else's hard work is not worth doing.
@doombloomart yeah and doing so has the potential to weaken the movement against genai as a whole, and we should not let that happen
