Last year - or earlier - was a good time to start planting your #victorygarden.
It takes time.

@John
While I agree that everyone should have a garden if they can, it doesn't solve the root problem.
Home gardens need fertilizer too. In the US non-organic chicken litter is up by about 30% at the wholesale level, retail will likely follow soon.
Good home gardens tend to make great produce, but not a steady supply.
Staple grain production is difficult to impossible at small scale...you really can't get enough calories off a small plot to feed a small family.
I’ve got lots of fertiliser. Fresh, from the source.
We’ve had people travel 45 minutes to fill up buckets with #Alpaca droppings for their gardens.
Helpfully, alpacas pick a single spot in the paddock & use that as their toilet, making access to droppings easy for those who want it.
That's convenient to say the least. We don't have anything that easy at our farm yet.
I'm hoping that next year we can get a maturing shed built so we can buy bulk chicken litter and horse crap.
In Oz, #chicken poop is commonly called #DynamicLifter after the company #Yates marketed it that way.
