Do you think Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto was in part inspired by the English folktale Robin Hood?

#KarlMarx #RobinHood #Communism

@lydiaconwell no, but it would be cool

@lydiaconwell

It's the part where Kevin Costner introduced dialectical materialism.

@linuxgnome Of course, when I was talking of Robin Hood inspiring Karl Marx, I was specifically referring to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves -- which frankly is an inspiration to us all!
@lydiaconwell
I did read some theories about the Communist ways of thinking based on traditional Chinese Law & Order .
As written down by Confucius and Mencius and others. People being trampled by higher -ups and trying to change it is from all times.
"Nobility" -systems in Asia Far East were about 900 years ahead of Europe.

@lydiaconwell Not as specialist, just what I picked up. Comments welcome 😏.

Both Confucius and Buddha were from rich families. Observing the poor suffering. Confucius ' detailed rules were used by King & Lords. Top down: Not one single King used it 100 %. But lower class had to live by it. Confucius became important 10 AC again in Asia.
It put females on definite lower ranking.

* Confucius was married for 2 years. After that his wife left him 🙂

@hanktank61 Yes, and I suppose also Christianity and Buddhism teach a certain equality.

I suppose really what inspired socialism was workers' groups who were using their solidarity to oppose greedy land owners and employees. I'm not well informed on this subject really. But I just wondered if the Robin Hood tale had any influence or whether it was just seen more as entertainment.

@lydiaconwell
I will come back later on that. Not at home 🙂
