That’s the right way to do it: Delta is officially treating nembers of Congress like “regular” passengers until TSA is funded. — You want the VIP desk? Do your job.
@Strandjunker Which members of congress will this actually affect?

@Axomamma @Strandjunker

any who fly Delta or the old Northwest routes taken over by Delta, I presume

POTUS & some in the executive have their own planes, but there are hundreds of Members of Congress, no way they can all afford to fly private

when i was a Northwest frequent flyer back in the day, we'd see them sometimes, they were supposed to fly economy (or maybe did so for optics reasons?) but no one's turning down a free upgrade to First...

My spouse sat next to one of our senators in coach back in the 1990s. They’re supposed to fly coach in order for it to be reimbursable, iirc.

ok, yeah, i remembered it was something like that

i did see one guy turn down his upgrade, i thought he was just showboating & wanted everyone to know he was a Congressman... because it wasn't clear to me how "they" in charge of reimbursement would even know he'd got a free upgrade or why that would make the base price of his ticket less worthy of being reimbursed but i didn't invest a lot of time wondering either...
