Took a detour into #modeltrain scales while researching gaming #miniatures, and now Reddit is showing me train-related posts.

Turns out that train layout backstories can be just as goofy as #TTRPG setting lore.

More grist for my theory that all forms of play trend towards roleplaying eventually. "Historians" who keep adding things like "Chicago improv" and "Victorian parlor games" to the "ancestry" of #TTRPG are ignoring the possibilities of independent invention and convergent evolution.

Footnote: My limited #modeltrain research suggests that #HOscale modelers would definitely be the ones who add the wildest details to their setting and lore.

HO Scale Sexy Scene Figures

The somewhat different model railway figures for the 21 and over the crowd. These sexy scene figures will certainly get some attention on your model layout.

@contrarian

I'd like to add this to the origins theory of TTRPG: "the make-believe games we played with my mates when we were 8yo."

@contrarian
I suspect it all derives ultimately from the "let's pretend" games that we all played as children.
