What if Filtr was a subscription? It would still be something like 5 bucks, but every year. 42 cents per month 🫠

Maybe this is the right choice to make sure Wipr keeps existing. I work on it for hours every day, and that’s hard to justify without any recurring revenue.

What do you think tho?

@mipstian from a consumer standpoint one time is always preferred but I know that’s not sustainable so I’m in favor for subscription. I think Filtr is a bit unique in that it’s a bit more of a niche feature set/may not be as desirable as base Wipr so maybe it lends itself better to a subscription?
@mipstian also that price point is VERY good imo but I feel like with consumers (that are not like the people on mastodon) the minute they see a subscription they’re out so I think that’s a bigger barrier than the price itself personally
@ashah that’s true. At this point tho I’d rather have a smaller number of dedicated supporters, and stay able to fix whatever issue they report in reasonable time, than go for huge numbers.
@mipstian happy to be one of those. I totally get how subscriptions are needed and am happy to pay to keep my favorite apps alive indefinitely. Fan of your work in general anyway. I’ve also purchased tatami, tipped in the tip jar, etc 🫡
