I feel like a lot of this goes back to these weird sentiments that:

A. If they lick the boot once, this will show they are compliant and therefore not targets (lmfao, no.)

B. Compliance with the king is easier than making genuine change.

C. It can't get much worse, right?

D. Only three more years then it'll go back to normal.

E. They're "not political."

Now that I've started the list of all the trash I've heard, it's just that making excuses is all faster and easier than lifting a finger or disrupting their norm. Weak bullshit from weak people, afraid to disrupt their day until it's too late. Then it's easier to cry about what they've lost.
