So just so we're clear, my iPhone running last years iOS and I get to choose: Upgrade to Ugly Glass or risk exposing basically everything on the phone including passwords to any web site. Wow, that's really an impressive new low for Apple.
@peternlewis They updated iOS 18 as well (the vulnerability is fixed at least from iOS 18.7.3 onwards, current version is iOS 18.7.6).
@thomasfuchs @peternlewis Problem I have is it's not offered to me in software update. Only iOS 26. Do you know a way to install the latest iOS 18 on 13 Pro Max?

@paulrickards @peternlewis what version of iOS 18 are you on?

fwiw critical security updates are normally installed transparently btw without you even being able to opt out; if your phone supports iOS 26, I think the last update it can get is 18.7.3 but I might be wrong (18.7.3 should be safe)

@paulrickards @peternlewis

In any event I 100% agree that it's ridiculous; they shouldn't force major version updates.

Why even have major versions if they treat it in sort of a continuous, version-less fashion.

(Also, I'd like to be able to go back to iOS 18.)
