@JessTheUnstill exactly. Even if it's technically inferior to other mechanisms, it's just so satisfying.
@kevinmirsky I got an actual wind up pocket watch years ago. I no longer use it (whee lack of good pockets), but it's always fascinating to me hearing the gears click
@JessTheUnstill oh yes, I know a lot of people like manual wind watches because they enjoy the physicality of winding them daily. And my newest watch ticks a little louder and I have to say I quite enjoy when I notice it whirring away.
