@rl_dane normally I would never correct phonetic spelling, but in the interest of preserving the strength of your filters, you might add “martial law” alongside the phonetic spelling.

I used to get a lot of mileage out of filtering "Democrats" and "Republicans". In the plural. (As my only filter.)

Oh, that's a great idea. I think somehow my other filters have that covered, but I'll keep it in mind in the future.

The filters really do so much to keep me sane on here.

I actually greatly enjoy learning about global policy when the emotion/desperation/hopelessness is removed from it, although it can still be a drag after a while, and I need a break from it.

Yeah… I was at a point where I didn't want to hear anything coming from people lumping a whole political party together and claiming something about what they did/said. So those whole words, in the plural, helped a lot.

There's the Marshall Doctrine (IIRC), but it's not related to Martial Law.
