Licenses should be revoked. Wonder if the police will even investigate.

@Zygos there was a horrific vehicular murder yesterday in the next town over from me. Middle aged man killed on a bike sidepath, apparently one well separated from the road. Police contend that the killing was deliberate. https://www.wkow.com/news/crime/fitchburg-police-arrest-man-after-intentional-hit-and-run-kills-bicyclist/article_65715f1b-b29b-4c44-a981-bf774d82675c.html
@emjonaitis That's horrifying! I have ridden in Fitchburg and have friends that live there.

@Zygos totally horrifying to me, too. My child goes to school like 3 blocks away and the director is an avid cyclist. Was definitely watching news reports carefully to confirm it wasn't him.

My other thought on reading it was: "first degree intentional homicide" isn't usually the charge applied to car-on-cyclist deaths, right? My cynical assumption is that in a car-bike collision, the cyclist is more likely to be the one that winds up with a traffic citation, assuming they're around to pay it.

@emjonaitis

Well the dude first came to notice by the police by attacking the police, so with that context I suspect they were looking to charge him with everything they could come up with.

And sadly you are usually right - the victim (cyclist) is usually blamed - clothes not bright enough, no helmet, no reflectors, etc - and their death is treated as an tragic 'accident'.
