Volunteer workday today. Likely working on further cleanup of the old nursery that went feral. Last week we had an unexpected repair of the archway and sign into Fawn Grove. It fell or was blown over, so needed a quick replace of the cedar supports.

Moving over to the Cardinals and allies today (Cardinalidae Family) with 14 Genera and 52 species - not all present in North America. A wonderfully diverse and colorful family.

Northern Cardinals today - vivid red male and muted female with red fringes. As an aside - when I was taking the Physical Chemistry sequence as an undergrad, Cardinals were my spirit animal that helped deal with the stress of those exams.
