Today‘s #CrossBorderRail os the direct ICE Berlin-Paris, starting with +10 and already announced to arrive with a +40 delay in Paris EST due to objects on the line around Frankfurt. But as my TER home only leaves Bercy at 16:30, it won’t change my overall travel time (🤞).
This train is packed beyond the last seat. But it only has 8 carriages. It’s the fourth time I am taking Berlin-Paris direct, and it was always that busy. Maybe it would make sense to run a long ICE or offer it more than once a day? It also seems a good chunk of passengers is traveling the full length…
#CrossBorderRail
For whatever reason the screen announced 11:23 arrival FFM. But we are not even past Aschaffenburg. But of course the archetype Nervous German is already clogging up the vestibules and gangways…
#CrossBorderRail
School class of French teenies just joined us in the „Ruhebereich“. I always wonder how that happens. Are those who booked this just ignorant? Was there no space in the normal area? I assume they book way ahead… and if this is actually allocated by DB, then WTF?
#CrossBorderRail
Made it to Paris with +75 minutes. Missed my connection and now I’m on the next TER home. Today felt a bit too much. Unfortunately I am on the first train to Dijon in the morning… #CrossBorderRail
This is a commuter train. Again, every last seat taken. Again, maybe run more trains #sncf?
@samy a lot of of people refuse to accept the concept of a Ruhebereich… full in-person and Teams-meetings in mine just now…
Aarrghhhhhh
@jortmentink
I usually friendly but firmly remind them. But this carriage is lost 😆
