Today's historic photo of the day: NSW State Rail Authority locomotive 4826 in 'yellow end' or ‘reverse’ livery hauls the Cooma Mail away from the staff exchange stop at Royalla, NSW, Saturday May 4 1985.

The Cooma Mail #train at this stage of its history ran 4 days per week: overnight from Sydney to Cooma on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights, with a return in daylight the following morning from Cooma back to Sydney.

@railmaps I know you have been doing this for a decade, and my 4 years as a late comer are piddling. But the incidental education about railways I have picked up from following your pics has been very valuable.

I don’t know how to put the last decade on repeat for newcomers, but if there is an easy was to do so, and all the posts I missed due to not checking Mastodon daily, I think everyone would be pleased. Obviously, if it is hard, I just want to thank you for a great service!

https://stefanbohacek.online/@stefan you know more about bots than anyone, is there an easy way to make @railmaps content be repeatable?
