things have got very weird. Yugamu made some pheromone drugs for Takumi and now everyone is in love with him and getting jealous if Takumi shows favor to anyone
the last route I played everyone turned into zombies, and now this 🙃
also, I KNEW IT part 3
I still don't trust Eito one bit though, I suspect he's just pretending to be affected by Takumi's pheromone powers
am at around 90 hours into this game now, and the story and writing is easily amongst the best of any game I've ever played. the way it hides its mysteries, and drip feeds you just enough information as you're going along, but in a totally non-linear way. I said it before but #TheHundredLine is a masterpiece
it throws its characters into hundreds of insane situations and what emerges is beautifully twisted every time. I love this game
got my first ending in the "Cult of Takumi" route on day 51 and it was GRIM AF, like fucking hell that went south quickly
Nozomi convinces Takumi that he has to reverse the effects of the pheromone drug and return everyone else to normal, but Eito overhears the conversation, and it ends with Takumi being drugged so he can't move and has to watch as everyone else beats Nozomi to death in front of him
then he is trapped in his own body forever, unable to move, and his cult members continue to worship him as some sort of living deity
what the fuck, game. it's a nice sunny Saturday afternoon and you drop that on me 😨
finished the route I was playing through last year, Chapter 14_B_bbb "The Comedy Route"
everyone got fish heads and there are lots of fish related dialog puns. It even had a Danganronpa style ending where Takumi accused Darumi of being behind it (she wasn't, he was making it up)
it's good to be back, I missed these characters
it's all gone very Danganronpa in "The Mystery Route" and I reached a story lock after someone started picking everyone off one by one! I can see me getting obsessed with this game all over again
welp, I'm right back into a serious #TheHundredLine addiction, this game is amazing and I am constantly blown away by the writing and how each decision leads to a completely different story
I said the other day that Falcom are the only developers crazy enough to make something like the Trails series, and here no-one else but TOO KYO Games and Kazutaka Kodaka could've pulled off this insane masterpiece
getting to spend a lot of time with Darumi in the current route, which is great because I love goblin girl so very much
this game... one minute there's a bit about Darumi ingesting an alien parasite called Retsnom that fuses with her body and causes her to start eating books and squirting pure alcohol out of her arm, and the next you get a conversation about her being abused as a child by her father
this game can be pretty dark in places
I love all the characters in this game but I have a special affection for Darumi. the writing and localisation is so unbelievably good. I really, genuinely care about her 😥
...Darumi noooo!
if by "happy ending" you mean "everyone was absorbed into the weird alien parasite cloning monster who spat perfect copies back out, so is everyone even still human" then sure, Darumi, we got a happy ending 😳
so today, instead of child abuse and suicide talk, Takumi caught something called "super smartass syndrome" which meant if he made a sassy quip there was a 3% chance he would explode and die. Tsubasa also created her secret weapon which is some sort of vibrating massager that activated Takumi's "motivational spot" in combat 😳
there was also a rap battle
this. game. is. amazing.
one of the most memorable tracks on #TheHundredLine soundtrack is "Sirei's Supervision" that plays whenever shady commanding officer and mascot character Sirei is issuing some crazy orders to the Special Defense Unit

well it's all gone to shit in my current route, that's for sure. saved for the night on a massive cliffhanger 😰
but knowing what I know about Hiruko, that she is another time traveler just like Takumi, I wonder why she is acting this way. is she just pretending not to believe him when he said he had come back from the future?
I'm 150 hours into this game and I still have SO MANY questions
"The Conspiracy Route" was excellent, if short! lots of new info about the Special Defense Unit's past, it turns out all their memories might be lies, including poor Takumi's memories of dear Karua 😭
nearly every choice led to a game over at the hands of either Sirei or Nigou/Gotoh, they are seriously shady!
so we finally get to see Sirei's brainwashing and memory manipulation technique in action, and it's as fucked up as you might expect, he's one sick bastard
also Eito reappeared after escaping earlier and he has some news, basically Sirei is doing this to all of the students to keep them fighting
oh man, it is ALL KICKING OFF NOW, big revelations about the war and just who the bad guys really are in this situation
I was kinda expecting this, but more revelations about what exactly is going on with the Special Defense Unit 😫 it's all gone fucked up
unsurprisingly, this didn't go down well
so, after finding out they were all clones with fake memories, the Special Defense Unit had to choose whether the continue to fight for humanity or not
the route where you choose to fight for humanity ends with Veh'xness destroying the artificial satellite with a missile, wiping out the last remnants of the human race (oops!)
I can't help feeling that humanity had it coming tbh, they are intending to kill every single Futuran and steal their planet, so I totally sided with Veh'xness here, and it was pretty funny the way it happened
with their reason to continue the fight gone, they decide to stop the final attack, but Sirei tried to force them to fight, and is killed by Nozomi
pretty bleak
reached what I can only describe as one of the "canon" endings of #TheHundredLine (if a game with 100 endings can even have a canon route)
after Nozomi kills Sirei the SDU make their way to the defense room in order to stop the missile launch that will eliminate all life on the planet, but find a horrifying sight. "Intercept Mode" has been activated and they must fight three giant robots powered by Shion's undying flames while simultaneously destroying the missiles before they launch
it's an unwinnable fight, one by one they are cut down, and Takumi realises the only way to win is to absorb his fallen comrades cryptoglobin, ensuring they die for real with no possibility of revival
soon Takumi is the only one left standing and he manages to destroy the machine and stop the attack, but in the ensuing explosion he is blown from the building and dies in Nozomi's arms, leaving Nozomi to wander the ruined planet, alone. the last human being in the galaxy
fuuck
thinking about another ending I got last night: after humanity is destroyed by Veh'xness the SDU decide to let the final attack continue and wipe out all life on the planet
after returning in the escape pod after the attack they wake up in the school on "Day 1" with no memories, exactly like the very start of the game and are told that they are the last survivors of a dead planet, tasked with rebuilding civilisation
the guilt and despair of what they had done was too much for them so Sirei offered to wipe their memories so they had a chance at happy lives
I liked this ending, I'd totally play a sequel that carried on from here...
...but it turns out Takumi has been brainwashed by Sirei and living in a fantasy world to keep him in line. I had no idea what tf was going on in this route, but I knew something was up and it was honestly pretty creepy
everyone dies at the end no matter which option you pick 😰
after nearly 200 hours I thought I had got to the point where #TheHundredLine could no longer surprise me, and then this fucking incredible game went and did it again
one of Takumi's decisions led to disaster. V'ehxness and the other surviving Futuran commanders win a battle and take over the school. Sirei is killed and the surviving members of the Special Defense Unit are taken prisoner and imprisoned
Takumi is kept separate from the others and interrogated by V'ehxness. however she allows him to ask her questions also and it becomes a philosophical back and forth. the writing is superb
this game, man
finished another route, 76/100 endings now. let's goo!
here's a no-context screenshot of two of my fav characters, Kyoshika and Darumi
just reached an ending in #TheHundredLine that made me say "what the actual fuck?" out loud
this game
finished another "Box of Calamity" Route, so there were actually TWO ghosts, one was Eva using her Hemoanima to linger on after death, and the other was a Hemoanima Avatar that Takumi's guilty conscience manifested, and the fact that he can do this might explain some of the... weirdness in other routes, especially if he's not aware he was doing it (say, because he is infected by the brain parasite and has blackouts)
Hiruko also had some things to say about being another time traveler, right before she died
(I just reread all that back and it reads like the ramblings of a crazy person, what has this game done to me, aaaaa) 🤯
