more games should have intentionally obscure, or strange, controls that you have to spend time figuring out. without real instruction. there’s something incredibly compelling about treating interaction like a language you learn.

@alienmelon One of my fav game ever is Mu Cartographer which is all about exploring a bunch of weird ui widget / controls and trying to figure out what they do or how they work. I love it so much!

@alienmelon I've recently learned that's one of the core things about Tunic, that you have an instruction manual in a language you don't understand, which I had no idea it's about. I thought it's just a very good Zelda-like, but this made me a lot more interested.

I haven't seen that mentioned much, and it's awesome.
