Had a classmate who saw this on my laptop and asked if it was the transgender port
@scarlett7447 no respect for firewire anymore
@ezio @scarlett7447 I’m more surprised that it’s still in use anywhere
@xgebi 2011 macbook pro was my laptop
@scarlett7447 @xgebi i still have a small herd of them with Firewire of various speeds and connectors. Still works well... i pulled some video off an old DV videocam with the 1394 port just a couple weeks ago. Video shot in 2008.
@scarlett7447 Technically doing stuff with firewire transed my gender so yes
@scarlett7447 everyone knows it's an internal combustion engine symbol and that's where you add lighter fuel to run the generator when the battery is low
@scarlett7447
It was once common knowledge that this is the "ayee, lega!" port, an old lithuanian slang for trans people (usually spelled in leet speak as ieee1394)
@scarlett7447 isn't FireWire dead and buried.

@Eemon @scarlett7447 yes, but it's daisy-chaining capability it borrowed from #SCSI are now in #Thunderbolt and #USB4...

#FireWire

@kkarhan @Eemon @scarlett7447 .. and it works just as well there as it did in FireWire.. -.-
@Eemon my laptop is from a different era
@scarlett7447 how could that happen? Everyone knows, that this is the technical symbol for the flux compensator.
@scarlett7447 listen kid, it’s a flux capacitor.
@scarlett7447 i forget who made this, but the resemblance is real
@ahihi @scarlett7447 gosh damn if there's a tattoo design that's it right there
@scarlett7447 dang, I had forgotten what that was the symbol of.
