I’ve always treated the modern world like a marvel. I carry an imaginary 15th century peasant in my head, and when I wash a teflon pan, or take an ibuprofen, I experience their appreciation of these everyday miracles. Whenever I use a new piece of technology I mentally explain how it works. If I can’t explain, we should go find out. Sometimes they talk back to me.

Today, in a moment of crisis, they said “I’ve got this; let me drive. Where’s our pitchfork?”

@Unixbigot for me it's getting Bach's take on all our wonderful new music and instruments (like electric guitar). I wonder what music the composers of old would have created with our modern resources.
@anagnostes @Unixbigot isn't this the plot of the original Bill and Ted movie?
@Workshopshed @Unixbigot I've never watched that.
@anagnostes @Unixbigot a very silly film where the protagonists of the story use a time travelling phone booth to collect figures from history and use them for a school report. Ludwig van Beethoven plays a synthesiser for his part in the presentation after discovering a music shop in the mall earlier in the film.
