I started thinking about the "It gets better" campaigns earlier and how hopeful we were that maybe they were right as gay marriage was starting to be accepted and so on. I hate that it all went backward from there.

Then, for my mental health, I decided to stop thinking about that for a while and just be thankful I didn't out myself to certain people in my life in hopes it would get better.
