The past couple of months, I’ve been building infrastructure on Scaleway. As someone who has dabbled in AWS, I’m pleasantly surprised at how straightforward Scaleway is while still offering a large catalog of services that play well together.

It’s not on par with AWS in the number of offerings, but AWS is so overwhelming that I tend to consider that a good thing.

If you’re looking for an EU-based alternative to something like AWS, then Scaleway might be it. I think it is for me.

@simonbs I'm running my website and stuff (like irc.noze.io) on a tiny VM on #Scaleway for some 10+ years. Worked well for me (they originally attracted me w/ cheap $3/m 4-core ARM based dedicated servers). I use their "S3" for SwiftPM Catalog.
But recently they killed my tiny-VM tier ($5/m) and apparently the only "automatic" transition was to a $35/m instance. I wasn't amused. Probably going to switch away over that. To Hetzner I suppose.
@simonbs thanks! How is the quality going? Used to be somewhat worrying.
@bert_hubert @simonbs My client had 2 full workday lasting downtimes in the last 12 months (container hosting) because of maintenance in other AZs which degraded external name resolution which we require for one service. All other containers worked flawlessly through the service windows. Not too happy with how no resolution was attempted bc the maintenance in Paris was ongoing while the containers in Amsterdam were up but couldn’t work.
