New, by me: Russian authorities say they have blocked access to Archive.today, a popular paywall removal site.

The sites appear blocked when I checked earlier (thanks @redteamwrangler for flagging), but was still able to access the sites from other devices and networks.

BTW: The link in your article to the listing for archive.is goes to http://192.168.1.250/real-time-html/Archive.is, which is an RFC1918 address and thus not correctly reachable from the Internet.

@zackwhittaker @redteamwrangler bummer. Hopefully its still accessible in some way. You dont think paywalls for *most* modern online journalism makes sense, right? I mean as a tech journo you probably have a stake in it... sooo... yeah. No, paywalls arent legitimate, ESPECIALLY in terms of how media generates revenue from other sources.
