I imagine there are safeguards and, obviously, there are exceptions, but I'd argue there's generally a good reason when a parent doesn't want their own parents to have any contact with their children.
DavidM_yegWhat’s fucked up about it is that is cast in the frame of ‘grandparent’s rights’, which like ‘parent’s rights’ are bullshit. No one should have rights over children; we are guardians and promoters of a child’s rights on their behalf, and only while they can’t themselves. Children may have opinions, we should listen unless we genuinely think harm will come to them.
