Anyone who does not want to read my #1Password posts for now can filter them out via the provided hashtag as I embark on this journey.
So as I've said, the accessibility is exceptionally good. But there are a number of UI and JAWS concerns which I am rectifying as I am discovering them.
1. Control+F typically is used for JAWS Find. A lot of people like to use it, so the conventional find in the app had to be re-assigned.
2. In Search, if you type several characters, JAWS does not read the found entry. It does for the first few characters but when it gets beyond a certain threshold it stops. I've corrected this one.
3. If you are reading a note using the virtual cursor, you move away from the app and then back to it, JAWS does not locate the place in the virtual cursor which is a very annoying trait. I've fixed that. It seriously caught me out this morning. I was referring to my notes, working in other apps as well, and every time I went back to the notes the position had gone.
4. Annoyingly, if you attempt to copy text from the virtual cursor, and if the visual focus is in the list of notes, the note gets copied rather than the virtual cursor content. I'm working on a fix for that.
5. Now we come to the using of fields if you have added them to notes.
Fields are placeholders, the idea being you can copy information from them. The uI for moving between notes and fields is cumbersome. Take the following workflow:
A. Open up a note.
B. Tab a number of times to get to the copy button for the field. Then press Space.
C. You now want to get back to your notes body. You have to Shift+Tab back about 8 times to get there. It could be more.
So two issues arise from that.
A. Ideally they need to change the UI a bit so everything is together and you do not have to bypass all these other elements.
B. I have implemented a keystroke to get back to the items list so you can quickly copy that secure note.
That's about it for now.
