I would just like to point out that England has got it wrong. She was Queen Elizabeth I. Anyway, let her billionaire family pay for the wretched thing if they must, but just keep it somewhere inconspicuous. I believe there is the odd mine shaft around that is still accessible - but we will need to charge rent.

@Wen
How about giving everyone in Scotland, say one hundred, metal discs with the queens head on one side and "one pound" on the other- fortunately the Royal Mint has already produced them so no need to make anything new.
@HighlandLawyer I suspect we could make do with the version that has Charlie on one side
@Wen
Well it is meant to be in memory of Liz.
@HighlandLawyer Yes by a £ is a £ is a…
@Wen @HighlandLawyer I don’t know whether it’s just my paranoia but I feel that references the queen always included the figure 2 whereas references to Charles hardly ever include the figure 3. Could it be they were rubbing our noses in it?
@peterbrown @HighlandLawyer I’ve never thought about it that way. How do you feel about James 1? 🤨

@Wen @HighlandLawyer I don’t think I’ve ever seen his name on a coin ;)

@peterbrown @HighlandLawyer Not that one 😜
@Wen @HighlandLawyer well it seems to me to be very simple. If Elizabeth was the second then James was the sixth. If James was the first then so was Elizabeth.
The only one that escapes all this mess is Charles!

@peterbrown @HighlandLawyer But he has other problems to deal with 🤣
