A machine cut into the rock, bit off a slice, spat it out and vanished, leaving rock towers and flowers behind.
I discovered this surreal place accidentally. The rock looks like a giant cake, the slabs pile on top of each other as if aliens had been building a tower in the middle of the wilderness but then abandoned the site. Wild daffodils grow from cracks and ridges in such quantities as if an ancient god was passing by and sneezing flowers.
The place also inspired me to write this tanka (a Japanese poetry style):
Biting into rocks
Helping itself to a slice
Letting go, leaving
Daffodils blossom in peace
A failed stab at destruction
