#ÓscarRomero, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1980, gave a sermon in which he called on the common soldiers of the Salvadoran state to refuse immoral orders and stop killing. Tens of thousands were killed by the state in the #SalvadoranCivilWar; Romero joined the dead the very next day.
