Not being able to show the author of a post love without blasting the universe with "HEY LOOK EVERYBODY - I LIKE THIS THING HERE!!!" (aka a boost/share) is one of the major reasons I always hated regular social media. My likes are a private nod from me to the poster, because it's nobody else's business, and if I want to push stuff into the feeds of my followers, I will boost.

Take that everyone who tells me to never fave but to always boost instead.
