Seeing posts about the #FediPaint Zorn palette challenge and it's tickling my brain in a way that suggests I'm going to end up having a crack at it. Little bit paralysed by fear of messing up from the start by picking the wrong colours, though, so if anyone can recommend four Citadel pots to use for this it would be much appreciated
@RexMagenta anything that's no blue, purple, magenta, turquoise or green is fine! And I know Zorn used green now and then but more often he didn't😅
@erikcats So I'm not going to wreck the whole process if I pick up the wrong shade of yellow? That's reassuring, thanks
@RexMagenta nope, just yellow away!
@RexMagenta You totally should, #FediPaint is always super fun. Don't stress about the paints, if you start with yellow, red, black and white you should be fine!

I've shared a sample palette the other day, maybe it's helpful in getting you in?

@RexMagenta can only recommend it - #Fedipaint has the loveliest buzz about it. Absolutely love following stuff people are working on. On Citadel paint I’d probably go for

Abaddon Black

Evil suns Red

Corax White

Mournfang Brown

#Nerdlings #WarhammerCommunity @nerdlings @warhammercommunity what do you folks reckon?

@RollleafD Mournfang seems too brown for this? And Evil Suns is a layer rather than a base, which makes me wary of the mixing. I'm leaning towards Averland Sunset and Mephiston Red at the moment

@RexMagenta just gone and grabbed me my paints - think you might be right on Mournfang - it’s a touch too brown isn’t it? In my minds eye it’s got more of a yellowish tone than in reality.

You know I’d not even noticed the Base/Layer thing on Evil Suns 😂 Mephiston was a close second.

Just dug about and Ratskin Flesh is quite close to the Ochre I’ve used.

Final observation- scar white might be a better white - I clearly like a slightly off palette 😂

@RollleafD Hmm, so Averland Sunset is more of a yellow than an ochre, but it does have the advantage over Ratskin Flesh of already being on my desk...
@RexMagenta see - that’s an advantage that I put a damn lot of weight in, that and it’s just the most gorgeous of colours 😂
@RollleafD @RexMagenta I was really thinking Balor Brown for the ochre - but haven't actually started.
@RexMagenta
If you are OK with other brands (or for the folks in the audience), the Army Painter John Blanche sets pretty much are Zorn themed, as that's part of his style
@jherazob Appreciate the suggestion for those watching at home, but for me personally I'm trying to minimise unknowns since the limited palette and colour mixing are already a new challenge. I'm comfortable with Citadel and know they work with how I paint
