The Arendtian implication: you don’t need to be a fascist to enable #fascism.

#Eichmann’s defense was that he was doing his job, following procedures, operating within a system. The horror was his thoughtlessness, not his fanaticism. We already know that institutional evil doesn’t require ideologically committed perpetrators, only functionaries who have suspended moral judgment in favor of role performance.

Looking at what’s happening in the #USA it’s clear they’re on this very slippery slop. Same goes to all other countries where the professional class suspends moral judgment in favor of role performance. We need to re-learn to say no.
