San Gabriel restaurant ordered to stop serving stinky tofu over complaints

Neighbors’ complaints against a family’s livelihood: One L.A. restaurant fights for its right to be stinky

Los Angeles Times
@ai6yr lol...surely restaurants in San Gabriel serve more strongly flavored food than the stinky tofu!
@kpdooty Sounds like it's one specific neighbor that has triggered the code violation, somewhere downwind....
@ai6yr
I can see how someone might not be experiencing the expected quiet enjoyment of their home when the smell of feces, a CNS toxin, and methyl sulfides waft their way from time to time.
@ai6yr Well, it could have been durien…
@ai6yr Said neighbor should probably avoid the night markets in Taipei, then...that smell is _everywhere_.
@ai6yr @paparatti To be fair, if it was left up to me *I* would order them to stop serving stinky tofu
@zompus @ai6yr @paparatti Stinky tofu. Man. That scent is pervasive. And after you eat it, you taste it for hours.
