New York is in the middle of a budget fight and Governor Kathy Hochul must decide who she stands with: working families or the ultra-rich. While everyday New Yorkers in Rochester & across the state struggle with rising rents, underfunded schools, hospital closures, crumbling infrastructure, and a broken care system — billionaires and ultra-rich corporations continue to hoard historic wealth. For too long, Albany politicians have claimed there “isn’t enough money” for housing, healthcare, climate action, childcare, or public transit. That’s a lie & it is unacceptable! We are demanding that Governor Hochul include progressive revenue in the New York State Budget by raising taxes on the ultra-wealthy — and that State Assembly and Senate members immediately co-sponsor and pass the Invest in Our New York package of legislation. This is about power. This is about priorities. This is about whose side our government is on. We are building a multiracial, working-class coalition across the Hudson Valley to draw clear line: If you refuse to tax the ultra-rich, you are choosing inequality.
