Did you know about my Brother-in-law's passing?
In January he died, and his mental health had declined sharply. We only spoke by phone, no one had been in his place, until he didn't answer the phone and I went to check.
The house is a disaster, it's 5 feet deep in waste. He'd been hoarding. You have no idea how bad, or how embarrassing for relatives. I have a good neighbour that helped with big stuff but my wife and I alone are spending 4 hours a day in mask, sifting through, separating and bagging garbage and recyclables.
Heavy snow kept us out for a few weeks, now it's a daily adventure (except today with the weather, but I still had to visit to put garbage out for collection) and not pleasant.
To give you an idea, under wet newspaper, ready to throw in the bin, and discover unopened mail. Government cheques not opened or cashed, and can't be now.. a 20 bill here or there, forgotten purchases, and repeat purchases for unknown reasons.
Today is our day of rest
